Hello Geeks!

Are you a Geek?  Do you feel like there is no place for you to go and feel welcomed to talk about technology?  Excellent, then you are the perfect member to join our social/networking group called South Dakota Geeks.

Unlike other social networking groups, all members of South Dakota Geeks have one thing in common: their interest in software, hardware, web, networking, telecom, or gadget technology.  We meet to learn, educate, assist and socialize.  Each meeting we have a guest technology speaker who will present on an interesting technology topic, something you won’t want to miss.  So, set the DVR, grab your netbook and come join us for some good technology-socializing.

So, what is South Dakota Geeks?   South Dakota Geeks is a social/networking group that is dedicated to bring technology professionals together for a social event and provide a forum to talk technology with fellow geeks.  Each event will have a guest speaker who will present on diverse subjects such as cloud computing, virtualization, software platforms and many others: the topics will vary but should be of immense interest to all.  These ARE NOT sales pitches, simply technology professionals presenting to fellow technology professionals.

Am I “Geek” enough to join?  Maybe, do you work in an IT field – software development, hardware, networking, web design or something similar?  Are you obsessed with new technology or are you addicted to gadgets?  Then you are Geek-enough... come join us, we would love to hear about what you've been building.

Is this a virtual social group?  No, we will have a virtual presence to organize meetings but our goal is to meet face-to-face to socialize, educate and learn from each other.  All information, including meeting dates and locations, will be organized through our LinkedIn group.  You need to get signed up so you don’t miss anything.

I’m a student and unemployed, can I join?  Yes, if you are pursuing an IT career you should join us.  This is NOT a recruiting forum.  While recruiting is strictly prohibited you will meet other professionals that may lead to interesting opportunities.
